| Financial Aid
Financial Aid is awarded on the basis of demonstrated
financial need and is administered by the UCD School of Medicine Financial
Aid Office;
it is only available to US citizens or lawful permanent US residents.
(Thus, international students who are not US citizens or lawful permanent
US residents are urged to delay application until they have identified
resources sufficient to complete the program.) Financial Aid information,
forms, contacts, and resources may be found at the School
of Medicine's financial aid web site.
To determine eligibility for financial aid, UC Davis uses the Free
Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is
available at the FAFSA web site.
The FAFSA web site also has provisions for electronic
filing, which we encourage. Individuals who prefer using the paper
form may call the FAFSA office (1-800-433-3243) to obtain the form.
FAFSA forms are also available at many public libraries, local colleges,
and high schools.
File the 2007/2008 FAFSA between January 1 and March 1, 2007. Although
UC Davis has a priority filing deadline of March 1, it is best to submit
your application as early as possible. Applications will be accepted
on a first come, first serve basis until funds are exhausted.
Current medical and veterinary students please note: You may not
receive the same financial aid package for the MPH program as you do
currently for your MD or DVM program. In addition, aid packages for
the MPH program are based on the 11 months of the program since the
program begins in early August. You will not receive aid for July living
and transportation expenses unless you take an elective in July for
your MD or DVM program. See the appropriate personnel regarding how
an additional elective might make you eligible for the additional aid
for July.
