About Samantha: Samantha became interested in public health while studying the gendered dynamics of HIV/AIDS in South Africa during her undergraduate degree. Her interest continued throughout her graduate studies, and was further enhanced by her work with non-profits. After immigrating to the United States in 2007, Samantha continued to work for non-profit organizations focused on the health and wellness of women. More recently Samantha has been engaged with local public health departments in Yolo and Sacramento working on HIV surveillance and tobacco control. Samantha enjoys running, hiking, and spends a lot of her time running after her three year-old twin girls.
