About Sarah: Sarah first noticed healthcare disparities affecting her family and the Baalbek community in Lebanon, where specialty care, such as neurosurgery or mental health clinics, is inaccessible to such rural communities. She continued to experience this pattern of disparate healthcare among the rural areas in many other contexts. While involved with the Shifa Community Clinic and UC Haiti Initiative, she witnessed the effect of government actions in influencing rural health crises. Her experiences serving in Sacramento, Lebanon, and Haiti have galvanized her to pursue a Master's in Public Health. Moving forward, Sarah will fight these issues by working with government agencies in order to deliver better equitable care at lower cost to under-served communities.
