About Mallet: After completing medical school, Mallet practiced at Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital (ENRH), Takoradi, Ghana, where his interest in public health was first inspired. He was also involved in the National Tuberculosis Control Program of Ghana and ran the Communicable Diseases Unit of the ENRH. He was also a member of the Western Regional Continuous Education Team that trained health personnel in the detection and management of TB using the DOTS strategy. Mallet’s passion is prevention. His public health interests include lifestyle associations with health and disease, occupational and environmental health, epidemiology, ways of reducing the ever growing cost of healthcare and public health research.
