About Alberto: Albert became interested in Public Health during his coursework at California State University, Fresno. He volunteered at several facilities aimed at serving individuals and families of low socio-economic status. In addition, he helped coordinate an annual children’s health workshop at a local community center. This inspired him to conduct research on the Chicana/Mexican mothers’ perception of healthy food for children under the age of ten. Albert’s emphasis in Public Health is nutrition. He has a strong belief that nutrition education will play a major role in reducing chronic diseases and health costs in the future.
