Mary Gallagher Degree: BS, Human Development, UC Davis (2007) Area of Emphasis: General Public Health Practicum: TBD About Mary: Mary is interested in health education and prevention. After graduating from UC Davis in 2007, she joined AmeriCorps and worked with an oral health education program in Humboldt County: “Teaching Oral Optimism throughout Humboldt.” She gave presentations about oral hygiene and nutrition to over 1200 high risk, low income elementary school students. Mary also administered weekly fluoride supplements to students, conducted parent education seminars, and organized dental service fairs and sealant clinics. Mary would like to find a practicum at a community clinic where she can continue to directly serve people.
